Happy Birthday Park Sung-woong

Happy Birthday Park Sung-woong!
Not a lot of people might recognize him because he's only played supporting roles: Suh In-chul in Man of Honor,  Oh Gang-chul in Cain and Abel, Jumuchi in Legend to name a few. This post, unlike my other birthday posts, won't just be pictures, but will sort of be a narrative timeline of my discovery and love for Park Sung-woong (who currently fights for my top 3 or 4 with Park Yong-woo).

My love bloomed as he graced my screen as Oh Gang-chul in Cain and Abel. This was the first time I had seen this actor, and before I knew it, he had lodged a place in my heart.  His portrayal as the tough, rugged boss with a heart made me swoon. He had the charisma and strength to lead his men and deal with drug lords, yet he also possessed the passion and kindness to be a brother to a man in need.
Soon thereafter, he quickly faded from my memory like so many other short-lived loves. It wasn't until the summer of 2010 when I saw him again, this time as Jo Jin-goo. I immediately recognized him as the leader in Cain and Abel. If Cain and Abel was the start of my love, Baker King Kim Tak-goo was the solidifying factor that placed him on my list. The two characters had a lot of similar characteristics which is probably why I loved them both.
This, then, like all my other loves on my list, sent me into a internet scouring frenzy for any and all information about Park Sung-woong. I picked up Legend and, do I need to say more, Jumuchi was my favorite character.
I also thought it was super cute how he actually got married to Shin Eun-jung who was the love interest, Dal-bi, of his character in the show.

They have a baby boy, too!

I went on to see (in some cases re-see) some of the movies he was in... even if that meant he would be on screen for five seconds at the end of the movie. The things I do sometimes... Anyways, now Park Sung-woong is on the top of my favorite actors list, and I really hope I can see him in some good projects soon (I watched his parts in Birdie Buddy but Man of Honor... my love can only endure so much).
Just some more pictures!

Happy Birthday!!!!

    1. Well, you're right in regards to Park Yong-woo "winning" currently... but I'm such a fickle fangirl. My 3 and 4 are basically the same anyways which is why I don't rank the actors I love because my brain would explode!

  3. Agree with you! In "Cain and Abel" his role was too dramatic for me, because after the death of his character I couldn't watch this drama till the end... But he was so amazing as a soldier ))) About "YeouiDo". I was really dificult to find this movie! I didn'd found any subs, so I watched the movie in korean. aaa! It was quite difficult to understand! Because I'm good only in russian)

    1. Same here! I sort of dropped Cain and Abel after his death.
I'm so suprised you saw "Yeouido" raw without knowing Korean. It must have been very confusing and difficult. The story was predictable but still very strange and contorted.

  4. Yes, the story is really strange! But he was great in this movie. In black coat and with his mystical smile
